Some Types Of Switches:
Flow Switch.
Many types are available to sense flow of fluid.
Microswitch With Lever.
For small pressures. The weight of a penny will activate this switch.
Recessed Door Switch
This is a magnetic switch, but it is recessed
into a door/wall/window so that it is less conspicuous. It replaces external magnetic door switch.
Relay Switch
Electromagnetic activated switch. Use to isolate circuit. Power the coil from another circuit to close/open the switch contact.
Miniature Tactile Switch
Tiny momentary switch gives snap action feedback when pressed. Inexpensive, costs about the same as pencil.
Heavy Duty Limit Switch
For industrial use. Can be very rugged, and water resistant.
Contrived Switch
Use any two metal contacts in a mechanical arrangement to detect movement or position. Use springs, hinges, plates, foil, and wire to make specialized switch connections.
Tilt Switch
Metal ball can sit in 4 positions:
Left, Center and Right, Upside Down.
Pendulum Switch
Can detect motion/bumps, acceleration
The number of pendulum swings after the shock can be counted to determine some size of the shock.
